fish help

gday, i recently purchased an orange flame gourami fish and he was a very lovely coloured fish at that.
anyways just in the last few days his scales have been going black especially around the top of his head and near his bottom fins. does anyone know why this would happen?

My brothers used to have gouramis a while back and if i rember correctly one of them had this problem too.
I think the ph was quite a bit out.

So all i can say is u might wanna check the ph if you havent already,

checked the ph this morning and it was about 7.1-7.2 and these guys are pretty tolerant up to about 7.4 they can live in so ill bring the water down to neutral anyway just to be sure. thanks
