Oops! That care sheet says you can only handle them if you have extremely clean hands or if you?re wearing surgical gloves! I used to handle mine every time I needed to get them off the old leaves and on to some new ones and only about 1 or 2 of mine ever died. I think that site goes a little overboard with how to care for them.

I'll say. I handle my silkworms all the time and none of them have died. The key is being gentle. I'm a bit wary of the amount of rubbing alcohol that caresheet says to use. I'd say the alcohol would be toxic to them. Just washing/rinsing your hands with normal tap water is good enough for me and my silkies.
