Hey everyone!

I have a 2 year old Murray Darling Python whose jaw ‘malfunctioned’ a couple of weeks ago after eating an appropriate sized rat.

He was able to fix it himself after 5-10 minutes of thrashing about, but it was shocking and I really didn’t know what to do.
Thankfully, it looks perfect again and isn’t misaligned or broken.

Has anyone else had this or similar happen? Would love to learn more about this, in particular how to avoid, what to do if it happens again and feeding moving forward.

Much appreciated!

It's rare, don't ask me how many thousands of snakes I've worked with over the last 30 years and I've probably seen it less than five times, but I haven't seen it cause problems. As long as it's looking fine now I wouldn't be worried.
