Hi guys,
I have just picked up an unwanted wc juvenile saw shelled turtle.
Could some one give me some information on their requirements as far as uv and food goes please.
cheers.

wild caught isnt that illeagal??

as far as car goes theres heaps of good sites on the net ive never really looked into keeping turtles. so i cant really help you there

Go to your local aquarium. get some really small feeder fish and some blood worms or tubefix worms. little turtles usually enjoy them!

as for the rest of the care im unsure sorry.

why was it WC??

Yes, taking any reptile out of the wild is illegal.
I do wildlife rescue for a mob on the central coast, and invariably end up with all sorts of animals that find themselves mucked around by humans.
Thanks for the reply's my knowledge on turtles is limited but now expanding.
Do young turtles need uv light?

Im pretty sure they do need UV or they get soft shells. also ensure the water isnt too deep and can easily gain access to a dry area. hatchling turtles can drown all too easily.
