[FONT=&quot]Hi there,

I found this little one near my back steps this morning. Unfortunately, it was already dead and has some cat puncture marks near its head (dark discolouration) as well as elsewhere. :(

I've googled images and am not sure if its a snake, legless lizard or blind snake.

At first, until i got closer it was hard to tell its head from its stumpy rear end, which seems to indicate it's a blind snake, but I couldn't find anything similar in colour for the NSW area - although it was difficult to find much information.

It is a brownish colour on top, but white and shiny underneath. I have a thick garden in parts with quite a bit of mulch about which backs onto natural bushland with a water course.

Any help with an id would be awesome!
Ta,
Amanda.

Blind snake for sure, cant say much more sorry

it looks like a blackish blind snake, the are pretty common on the central coast so i guess they would be up at newcastle as well.
