Hi name is Mike Thomas, i'm studying science and love cicada's, phasmids and reptiles.

I have a few pythons and lizards but not a big collection. I go nymphing for cicadas every summer.

Mike

Drool!

HAHAHAHHAHAHA!

EDIT: Says the girl who doesn't know what phasmids are.... ;)

I love cicada's! I've noticed less and less coming up each year though :(
They say they can wait in the ground for years until the conditions are right?

Welcome to the forum :D I really like cicadas too lol - my fav insect (along with dragonflies).

yeah I have noticed a serious decline in cicadas around my area too. When I was little they were everywhere - now you hadly see a shell :(
I read somewhere they can take 17 years to mature underground  They spend most their lives down there and only emerge at the end of their life to mate.

I don't know if this is appropriate to do - but here's my best impression of a cicada and dragon fly photographer :p
