ok 1st thing is 1st use "Advanced search" then its a simple matter of ,

1) use the search types feature to narrow down your results , Eg i checked the boxes posts and wiki, this will give me results with the search words i am looking for in both posts and the site wiki.

2) search for, use keywords
type them in and select either entire posts or titles from the drop down menu,
(i suggest titles so you get threads specific to your search needs) if you know someone you think has good info i recommend entering their site name into the "user name" section to define it further if not leave it blank and get a broader result on you searched subject.
add a tag or 2 if you like but as not many people use tags here its not really necessary

and

3) Additional Options not really needed unless you want info from one date to another

then search

im thinking you will find you search is now jam packed with info you want.

point being, typing in a word and hitting search isnt the best here and with proper use of the advance search system you will find you wont need to post questions asked a million times and get flamed for it.
