So been out hunting fresh items for my enclosures, hollows, forked branches ect, i came across a old steel gold pan its a bit on the rusty side but not flaky or disintegrating was wondering if it would be okay to screw to the wall of a python enclosure treated or un treated?

would make a nice piece and would serve as a ledge

I'd give it a light sand to remove any rough edges the snake could get caught on, and seal it with a water based sealer. Pond sealers work a treat, just make sure you do the amount of coats suggested. Sealing it will make it that much easier to clean if the snake happens to do its business on it.
And welcome to APS. :)
