I've been there and have a picture of the sign just like yours. Only I can bet your photography is so much better than mine. I was gonna say the water didn't look that deep .. lol ..

Eulo is famous for their lizard races. They have a showground there, with a huge statue of a frill necked lizard.

Thats funny, I doubt if there is a wild frilly within a 1000 kilometers of Eulo.
I didn't see any lizards in Eulo ( or people either) but did see a small brown goanna just past the town. No ID
