A beautiful big old Olive Python filmed exploring the woodlands in Kakadu. Not the biggest I've seen but was over 3m and in great condition. Big ones aren't as common as they used to be. Seemed to drop off in numbers big time after the toads arrived and then for several years was mainly seeing smaller ones, although the odd good sized one is starting to appear again. Large pythons like this will become increasingly rare if the Top Ends' mammal populations continue to plummet!

Nice - wish we had critters like that roaming around down here in Victoria. (at least it'd keep the cat population down ;);)). Sad to hear there are fewer and fewer big ones around.
