I'm looking at getting a pair of geckos soon and was considering a pair of leaf tails. Can anyone who keeps them shed some light as to what they're like to care for? What are their requirements, etc.

Also, who breeds them and approx what a hatchling pair would set me back?

Cheers:)

Cost depends largely on species. Phyllurus platurus can go for as little as $80-$100ea but you need to be weary as they may be wild-caught. Most Saltuarius species will cost $250-$300 + per animal.

They are quite simple and not very demanding. Slow growers and slow maturers in comparison to Nephrurus etc, taking between 2-3 years (and maybe longer) to mature. However, they are ravenous feeders. Keep in a vertical orientated enclosure with lots of vertically placed bark, logs, branches, rocks etc. Some species (S.cornutus) have high humidity requirements so take humidity into account when deciding on likely species. Heat them via a light, heat mat or whatever but being in Qld, you may not need to provide much heat, if at all.

Thanks for that, that's good to know that they're not too difficult to look after. Now time to find some for sale:)
Cheers
