Needing verification on an ID

Found this yesterday.. a Varigated Dtella I believe?
After a couple quick pics she was put back where we found her, but out of harm's way

Nope Marbled Gecko. Christinus marmoratus.

really? The Marbled gex we normally get are soo much lighter, almost pink.. guess there must be a wide colour variation

the reason i thought it was a dtella, was cos i googled it, and the pics on there were so similar to what i found. But i thought everyone on here would know better

The boys are correct – Marbled Gecko.

Gehyra (Dtellas) have claws that originate out of the upper surface of the toe pad and jut out well past the expanded disc. In most other genera (except Hemidactylus) in WA the claws come out from underneath the scales on the toe pad and are usually covered, only being clearly visible when you turn the toe over. Gehyra also only have 4 digits with claws – the first digit lacks one.

The swollen areas in the neck, just anterior to the forelimb, are calcium stores used by females when laying eggs. From the size of her, she could quite likely be gravid. The eggs would be visible through the belly skin.

Thanks bluetounge, thats really good info.. I knew about the calcium stores and yes, she was gravid. the only reason i touched her at all was cos she was hiding right where my dad was working, and i didnt want her to get hurt.. but she was moved really gently to a safer spot a few metres away
