Not sure.
Hi all,
Recently i made this enclosure for two patternless pink tongue skinks. Here is how i made it.

I started with carving out the background. I used Insulation Foam and a kitchen knife to carve it85889A81-4648-4EF5-B96B-C1981923962C.jpeg
I wanted to add some ledges so i made them and glued them to the background with silicone 6CD77BCE-8754-434F-A00A-6BE64998EC04.jpeg93D14CF7-17B1-4C2E-8AA4-E027EE83BED2.jpeg
After letting the silicone cure, i painted the background with tile pointing, i did about 2 coats.
Then i added a pvc pipe for drainage as these little guys are rainforest species.

then i did all your basic bioactive stuff, drainage layer etc.
I planted the tank with Pothos, a Fern, Pepperomia, Ficus varigeta, syngonium, Phylodendren and some other plant from Bunnings.

I love it. Do they ever sit on the plants or are they a little too heavy?

Apparently a wire head drill bit is pretty good for texture if you can’t be bothered scraping the whole thing with a kitchen knife for texture. Might help if you go even larger.

Thanks! They tend to sit in the philodendron, but that is because it is the plant with the largest leaves.

I was using the knife purely to get texture so they had more space to climb, giving them more usable area in the enclosure. They are growing up in this cage so the idea is that it provides the best space for them. If I was setting a proper display enclosure I would have carved it and shaped it to look like real rocks.

I didn’t mean to imply that your carving is bad. I actually quite like it. Especially the additional rock ledges you’ve done. Just that if you made a larger one scraping it with a kitchen knife would be very time consuming for you.

Wow!! I wouldn't call any of that 'basic'. What an amazing job!!
