Can anyone help my daughter in identifying this snake please. Was discovered in her handbag after returning home from a day at Bribie Island beach, Qld.

It's a common tree snake also known as a green tree snake.

Totally harmless, so you can relax on the head hold.. Although I may add a bit of advice, next time, definately confirm id before grabbing them,,,just in case.
