a 15 W heat cord couldn't cause a burn could it ?

how is the heat cord setup?....wouldnt think it would cause a burn but not saying it couldnt ...in regards to the scale rot thinking ...the iodine is good as a antiseptic but you want to keep it dry and so by using a cream or solution ,even though its a antiseptic ,your honestly better off using a powder ...I use this one and its a broad spectrum antibiotic ..works really well and its not expensive at all ...its called TERRAMYCIN pinkeye powder ...if you cant get to a vet as you said because of the costs ...try this first ..clean the scales throughly with the betadine solution ..then after that use only the powder and as others have expressed keep it DRY AND CLEAN ..that is very important ....if you see no improvement in the snake after a few days or if it gets really bad ..then you will have no choice but to see a VET ...good luck

Oh and remove the water dish and replace with a dish that it can only basically stick its mouth in to get a drink ..you dont want her giving herself a tub ...the powder can be bought from any produce place and its in a bright yellow bottle with a red lid ...
