hey guys
Now i will be making some cages soon,i do NOT want to use melamine, yes i have been talking to ren too much.

I was thinking about useing ply wood! Any tips when working with this type of wood? should i use 7 ply? i will be usein a nice natural lacquer,so it looks way better then white!:)

thanks for any help

I make all my enclosures out of ply, its an easy material to use.

I use 15mm which is fine but you have to be pretty careful with your screw placement so you dont bust the sides out. If you have the patients pre-drilling all holes would help with this.

Once they are stained and cleared they make awesome pieces of furniture that everyone will admire.

I would suggest a seven ply. it would be a great insulator and would not let the heat as easy as a thinner material.

okay so the thicker material...what type of lacquer do people use? and do u have to use a clear uptop of that?
thankyou

i use 12mm ply, pva glue and a nail gun its so easy to work with

you can realy use anything thats water based.
