just wondering what sort of temperament they have and if you can handle them
and also just to be sure..... pygmy mulga monitors are semi-arborial?

I would consider them to be arboreal, you can handle them but its much like handling fish, pretty pointless and only causes stress. They generally adapt well to having humans around and will not be bothered by you being around them although they will think you are a pest if you molest them by constantly touching or grabing them. They are sort of animal that only likes touching other animals to kill and eat them or to mate. They are quite smart and will learn that you are not a threat and a source of food. In time they wont try to hide from you and can be easily hand fed.
