I will be starting classes at James Cook University in February, so I was looking to get a good head start on getting the more obscure native species learned. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good field guide for Queensland.

So far, I have only located, A Field Guide to Reptiles of Queensland (New Holland Field Guide) by Stephen K. Wilson. If anyone can recommend any for Queensland or all of Australia that would be appreciated greatly. I am mostly looking towards the reptiles and amphibians with specifically gekkonidae, Scinidae, and Varanidae.

Thanks,

Thats probably the best available. Wilson and Swan's Australian field guide is a little more up to date but even it is out of date already with 30 new species since it was released.
