hi, just wondering what is the deal with liscences? i know for most reptiles these days u need a liscence. are there different types of liscences? and what sort of liscence would i need for a pygmy mulga monitor? or any other small varanus species.

thnx Gonff :D

every state has a different department that handles it and silghtly different laws, ckeck with the one relevant to your state

There are different classes of reptile licenses, each corresponding to different native species. I know in NSW there are three types, and you have to hold each one for a certain length of time before you can progress to the next one. At each class the species become more dangerous or more rare.

Im not sure how it works in VIC but im sure it would be similar. Contact the specific wildlife government department.

In NSW you only have to have a class 1 license to keep pygmy mulga monitors
