Hi guys Ive been tosing up enclosure ideas having 1 big outdoor enclosure with waterfall creek and a big pond.I have a collection of koi carp and intend to house them with eastern water dragons turtles and blueys and maybe some birds. the carp are large all over 14 inches. Has anyone housed reptiles with carp and will water dragon attack and eat my fish. Are there any probs I havent thought of any advice would be greatly appreciated

They will be fine.
Water dragons arnt that great at catching fish and they wouldnt attack a larger carp.
The only thing to watch will be the water quality.
I would however recomend you get some nice native fish instead of exotic crap oh i mean carp ;)

When I eventually get my own place, i'm going to convert the entire backyard into some sort of minor reptile park, complete with large pond/waterfall with turtles/EWD and various other herps.

It's a pipedream really though :p

Love to see some pics when it's done though.

thanks for the advice guys
Weve had big ponds for years and using bio filters its very low maintenance and very clean water, cant wait to add some reptiles. Native fish would be cool but cant get away from the koi they kick ***

only issue is, the fish may try and eat the lizards tail when its sitting in the water. i know turtles do it, fish may aswell.

I would be a little concerned about the turts. I keep native catfish with turts and have to separate them at feeding to ensure the turts get their share. Perhaps carp would be the same, particularily with juvie turts??

hey olivehydra what sort of filter setup are you running in your pond, never thought of feeding issues carp are pigs so it would be a consideration
