Snake food

Hi everyone, Im new here and new to owning a snake.
I have a 18 month old coastal carpet python named Lix and have got it on wiener rats. I was wondering if there was any other foods i could feed him that was cheaper as i might not be able to afford this diet and i dont want to have to sell him.

Also i use 60w light globes to warm the enclosure to 30oC could i use a heat mat instead to he can get warmth of that or does the air really need to be that warm?

any advice would be great!

you can't afford the $6- a week required to feed a snake then you should sell it. And $6 is a high price to be paying!
