Hey mate, I live 40kms south of Sydney in the Sutherland Shire. I think your best bet will be Heathcote National Park and The Royal National Park for reptiles. I have never been herping around here but I have seen a Rosenbergs Monitor, Jacky Dragons, Lace Monitors, Golden Crown Snakes, Red Bellies, tons of Eastern Water Dragons and heaps on unidentified Skinks.

Maybe look at getting "Australian Reptile Park's Guide to Snakes of South-East Australia". A great little feild guide to the area.
Only down side is that it only includes snakes and not other reptiles.

Just had a look, it's available from Herp Books for $13.50.
