But why are the analog ones so much more expensive then the Digital ones?
I'm running several Eco-tech and URs digital thermos, which have the timer and heat function, as well as day and light cycles, and recently I was given an analog one from a guy from the council, and it was marked $40-$50 more expensive then the digital ones I've got.
I have also noted this in many pet shops.
Are they that much better?
Have people had problems with lifespan of digital Thermos?

It comes down to a number of factors.
Is it a switching thermostat, pulse proportional thermostat or dimming thermostat?
Does it come with safety features that allow it to go to off mode should it fail?
Is it made to Australian standards or are you shopping for cheap chinese products on ebay.
It is very much the case of you get what you pay for when it comes to thermostats.

All have been bought from pet shops.
My URS digital dims, my URS analog doesn't.
But the analog is 50% more.
