Hi Guys,

Im just finishing up the CAD drawings for a new tank design i have.

Just wanting to know,

Its been built out of melamine with thickness of 18mm
I have used the glass track with width of 20mm
The design has a full length light box with mesh

How many vents do people recommend?

See below,
Its been designed with variable parameters
So if next time i want to change the lenght height glass height etc its only change of a spread sheet and TADA!
(Two different Lengths in the Picture)

Thanks Guys.

I have placed a vent up high on the cold end and a vent down low on the hot end of the build I'm currently doing (1200x600x600 melamine enclosure); both are on the back wall of the enclosure. Looks like it should be one awesome build you are doing :)

Vent placement and size will depend on a few factors such as:
*the animal you plan on keeping in it (max/min temps)
*the typical ambient temps and relative humidity of your area (e.g. tropics = greater vent size)

18mm sounds a bit of an overkill - these things are already monumentally heavy when you get into the bigger sizes, even at the standard 16mm. What thickness glass were you planning to use with 20mm wide glass track? Remember you don't want a very large gap between the overlapping glass sheets. Some of the showcase glass tracks are quite unsuitable for reptile enclosures for that reason.
