I have purchased the server in the US and am now setting up my main domain for testing purposes. Once it has propagated and I have confirmed everything is in order, we will start with the move of APS.

This will involve the following steps:

1) FTP files are copied to the new server (DONE)
2) APS is taken down
3) mySQL database is transferred to new server
4) Domain name is transfered to new name servers
5) Domain name propagates
6) APS is taken back up

Nup, all should be kept. A few messages may be lost though (those sent in during the transfer process).

Do you know how long the site will be ofline for??

Not exactly. I may renable the site before the domain propagates for me, because Optus has a reputation of being slow to propagate. With any luck the site should be back up for most people within 48 hours, for some people it can be up to 4 or 5 days, it will depend on YOUR ISP.
