just a quick idea, not sure if anyone else is interested but,
how about a few theme options for the forum/cms
something to make APS a little more personal and fresh
give it a little spice nothing major, this same theme
just with a few different color options just 2 or 3 options more maybe
i know its cosmetic but it cant hurt
