These are just some latest pics of a BHP i got 6 months ago and was wondering what peoples thoughts for as im new to BHP's and wouldnt have a clue what to think about this animal as it has zero history(ballot animal).
So no idea of histrory, age, local etc.
Noticed in his last 2 sheds that he has been losing colour along his side scales, as there turning pink (camera pics dont show it well but there pink)
So info ive figured out so far is hes male maybe 3 yrs old and possibly calico.
Anyway just thought id see everyones thoughts as i know little of calicos and BHP morphs in general.
Pink half/full scales go all the way down both lower sides.
Thanks for any insite.

Not looking calico atm those lighter (peach) coloured underbelly scales are quite common on BHP's as far as I know?

Depending on the age (if not too old) only time will tell..

I am certainly no expert on calico's, I will say it's a rather nice looking BHP none the less :)

Very nice BHP, but in my opinion, not Calico.

Cool thanks for that, hes a nice looking BHP just need to work on his temperment lol as hes scared of his own shadow and loves to be calm one day and the next be striking the glass, while opening and closing his mouth slowly hissing threats lol
Also loves to eat when ever the mood takes him which lately hasnt been often.

Most calicos that I've seen actually go through a 'speckly' ugly stage in their transition to changing to Calico. This normally happens over several sheds. If you do a search on here you'll find some great examples of Calico BHP's, or Denver now has his website up at Den Pythons-Specialising in BHP's and you can check out more there.
You've got your hands on a very nice BHP there for sure. Well done.
cheers

Gotta love Bhp,s. Had this girl bout 6 weeks now. (Makes her nearly 8 months old) Interested to see if she holds these colours or not but we like it a lot.

Looks like a standard "red" to me.
A lot of the red lines here in the states start off with dark bands but, they turn redish orange around 2-4 years old.

Nice animal.

beautiful BHP bez but not 100% sure about being calico ...anyways i would be a a happy herper its a cracker :)

As BHPs age and grow, their colour changes also. Some drab out, some get the odd black scale here and there and some, although only subtle, get random scales of reds, pinks, whites etc. I the majority of cases, these changes aren't a sign of a mutation, they are simply variations in colour emerging as the animal matures.

It's a pretty BHP regardless, I'm sure you're stoked to have him.
