Townsville People?

I saw a thread awhile ago about brisbane people getting together. Was possibly going to try this but in Townsville. If theres any Townsvillians who are interested we can get numbers going then devise a plan!!

Mhmm I am in Townsville... or at least until the end of the year (I graduate then and have no idea where I'm gonna go- I've been here for the past 5 years with uni!)

Only problem is I'm extremely shy lol

Vet science... so I'll be a 'doctor' at the end of the year I suppose.. scary thought!

And no, I'm not so sure! I'm so shy I literally have three friends, and thats it... and they're not particularly close friends, so I essentially know pretty much noone lol. I do wanna get out and meet new people but I really, really struggle! lol pathetic I know

Haha don't worry I have a few close friends and they aren't even in Townsville!! I'm a lil jealous of you in your last year of vet!! I wish I was smart enough to study vet . . So your at JCU then? Or external?

Haha you don't need to be smart, I'm certainly not And yeah I'm at JCU, and so long as I don't stuff anything up (haven't yet) I'll be in the second group to graduate from JCU vet!

I'm not actually in Townsville right now though... Currently at Malanda for one of my rotations, and am currently supposed to be doing an assignment thats due tomorrow. Ahh procrastination

How long are you away for? I have to go Mackay for placement in October - really not keen for it. Miss out on 3 weeks of work, don't get paid, have to have own transport and find and pay for my own accommodation

Are you going to specialise in herps kitah? I wish i could help I was in tsv for 6 years, going up next month but, to see family and friends

I'm just up here for the next week then head back down (each rotation is 2 weeks long). And I know what you mean about placement type work! We've had to do a total of 33 weeks in the 5 year course for placements during our holidays... its crazy!

Leamos, I do love my reptiles/birds/wildlife/exotics (I dont know why people always call them exotics... the reptiles are all native!) and would like to keep them as a special interest. Its a great deal of work and difficulties to actually be qualified as a specialist though

If I could specialise exclusively in Australian wildlife I'd seriously consider doing vet science. Unfortunately, there's no money in that.

I've been meaning to get to a club meeting. Katie I'm available for any weekend, would be cool to organise a few herp sessions as it warms up too. Haven't been out for ages.

I kinda wouldn't mind meeting other reptile-minded people. I don't really know any to be honest If you guys end up getting together I may see if I have enough courage to come as well
