What is a good Turtle for a beginner??

Thats a great idea, it covers every species in the country bar one.

Get one thats aclimatised to your area, Nowra = Chelodina longicollis. They are found locally there so you know it will suit the conditions, especially when it gets bigger and needs to go outside in a pond.

Saw shells, murray rivers, eastern long necks or krefts would probably be the best, just choose your favorite from these.
