Hi All!!

As this is my first time on this site Hello ALL!!

I am trying to identify a snake I found the other night in Bargara QLD

I was walking home at night and found this pretty but highly agro little number on the footpath near a small fig tree.

Black upper body ,grey underbelly, Approx 25-30cm long, small head with a bronze triangular marking behind the head. As I mentioned earlier highly agro and extremely active considering it was night time.

Can anyone help me .

Sounds like it could've been one of the crowned snakes such as the dwarf crowned snake or the golden crowned snake these snakes are generally nocturnal & will raise their head up high in a threatening manner with occasional strikes which are usually all bluff with the mouth usually not even opening as they do this.
