Vegetation for Turtles

I just put a fake plant into my turtle tank and my eastern longneck turtle went and tried to eat it! He's on beef heart/liver fish dinner this month so maybe he needs a bit of plant matter. What can i give him? I've read from somewhere else that brocoli leaves and parsley is ok., but what else can i give him?

Long necks are generally carnivorous, just put in some water plants so it can eat them if it feels the need.

I've put in duckweed from my fish tank, but he just watches it float around, lol.

they are carnivores, hes just playing with the plastic plant, using your logic he would be deficient in plastic
