Which is better ??

Hi everyone I am looking at getting some golden tailed geckos and I hav been asking around on here which is better heat mat or heat cord ?? And for the geckos does the heat supply have to be hung vertically or can it just go on the bottom ?? Thanks for your help

I would probably go a heat cord, but I know absolutely nothing about geckoes.
Reason been I have seen a few heat mats which have caught fire.
A heat mat could work, but make sure you use a thermostat and a very good quality heat mat.

Yer I was leaning that way, but wat if the heat mat was like velcrowed to the side of the tank ?

There wouldnt be much point in that mate. The heat mat/cord really should be underneath the enclosure.
What are you going to keep the geckoes in?

Um a few people use heatmats on the side of tanks for aboreal geckos

If it's one of those plastic ones, like the microclimate ones, I believe you can just tape it on the bit that doesn't heat up (the edge).
