We found this lil guy under our caravan, battered & bruised. A trip to the vet, wounds treated & some R&R at a local wildlife park then hopefully he will be home again. Never ceases to amaze me that even snakes this small incite such hatred in some people. Looks suspiciously like he got bashed by some lovely person! A beautiful red belly, didn't kick up at all when he was put gently into the tank for transport.

wait dont worry didnt read the post properly sorry :)

He/she had large welt-like wounds on his/her back that could only be caused by someone hitting it with something. At first I thought maybe a car had run over him/her but the injuries were superficial. The vet agreed it did look like the poor dude had been beaten, maybe by a broom or hose. The injuries def were not bite marks from an animal! We live right on the lakes edge & these are common here (Red-bellies, Eastern Tigers & Eastern Browns are regular & welcome visitors to our place) My next must-do ticket is my vens license so I can remove these gorgeous creatures from where they aren't wanted & return them to where they will be safe. :)
