I use old toilet roles only. They need nothing on the floor itself.

i have nothing or the floor except lots of egg cartons.
the woodies do have eggs but they are kept inside the mum, sometimes you might see them sticking out from her. they are clumped together in a log shape.
the mum will drop them and soon after they will hatch.
It is called an [FONT=CG Times,Times New Roman]ootheca, basically an egg holder, like an egg box which in the case of SFR's remains attached to the mother until after the eggs hatch.
