Hi guys,

Our spotted Python has gone very pink on his underside which we assumed was the heat mat being too hot but he has now gone milky. When we checked our log (school snake) the 2 seem to be linked. Is this normal or is he too hot?

Thanks,
Phil

maybe he is going into shed all my snakes go pinkish under there belly when its time to shed

Most certainly a shed, they tend to go a pinkish hue due to the skins membranes separating and the inner layers being thinner show the pinkish hue from the snakes blood. The milky color is the next stage where it starts to separate and become dry.
It should peal this in under a week.

excellent, that's what we thought but wanted to check as he only shed about 10 weeks ago! (he is eating a lot more than he was with his previous owners tho so I assume he's just fattening up)

Thanks all
