Hi, I'm new to the forum and snake care. I have a young ( about a year old) Children's Python who hasn't eaten for over a month.
I had problems getting her to eat early on but she's been voracious for a long while.
I recently came back from a holiday during which she was taken care of by a friend with snake experience.
Apparently she was eating fine while I was away. She went into hiding soon after I picked her up and I assumed she was shedding, which she was. Usually she is really hungry after a shed but she hasn't been interested.
It has been a little colder around here than normal. (We are in Darwin and I don't use a heating pad or anything. )
I'm also wondering if it could be that what I'm offering her is too big. She has just recently moved onto full sized mice.
She eats frozen mice and I was also wondering if it's ok to keep defrosting and refreezing the mice or if they should just be thrown out if she doesn't take it?
How often should i keep trying to get her to feed?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Cheers.
