Hermit crab help

Hermit crabs

Hey guys.
I found my crab on the surface this morning which I thought was a good thing but then I found one of his legs and that he didn't have his shell on!:shock: What should I do to encourage him to put a shell back on?


I'm abit worried about him and also I've heard of "moss pits" for them to change shells in? Can anyone explain this
