Mouth abscess - 18 yr old python.

My 18 year old jungle (have owned most of his life) has developed a mouth abscess. I suspect from striking the glass. Have tried betadine with no luck. Has anyone had any luck with treating these (via a vet or other means) or will it be an ongoing problem at his age? I don't want him to suffer weeks on end, if euthanasia would be kinder.

It would probably need aspirating to remove puss, an abscess would probably have been caused by a prey item scratching the inside of his mouth

I believe it’s an easy fix for a vet

With freshwater turtles we would treat this with 2% hydrogen peroxide on a cotton tip.
