Ok I may have answered my own question, One of the salesman at my work happens to deal with richgro and asked him personally, and he has advised him that it is made up of mainly course wood chips with some fine and apparantly has no chemicals or micro organisms etc etc at $9 for 40l could be a goer.

just make sure it doesn't get eaten at feeding time. It can get lodged in their throats and cause a few issues. I would feed in a separate substrate-free tub if you do decide to get this.

yeh was planning to do so but to be honest I have never thought about that and have fed my little guy in his enclosure 4 years using repti bark but definatly will have to start feeding outside in a different tub from now on.
