Young beardy feeding

Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a hatching bearded dragon although I work FIFO week on/week off. I know a young beardy requires a lot of care (especially food offered frequently) . While I'm away i was wondering if there is a staple packaged diet that my wife could feed him on or does it have to be live crickets? etc

Juvenile beardies eat mostly live prey unfortunately, with some fruit and veg. Is your wife not keen on feeding crickets?
