Well, after much searching I finally found a Father/Daughter hobby for me and my dad,

and thankfully it's my most favourite thing in the world, reptiles!!!:D

Me & Dad are going herp shopping this weekend so hopefully all goes well:)

What was everyone elses childhood father/kid hobby?

Me and my dad go fishing :)
Were also very outdoorsy people so we go on camping trips, road trips, some times even random drives to birdwood or mt torrens to have a pie at the BP :)

haha that sounds great! thats the kind of dad my partner is with my little boys, its awesome to see.
i remember my dad teaching me how to kick the footy (yes i think i was perhaps the son he never had hahahaha) and also building leggos together and eating fish and chips on a sunday watchin the eagles play on tele!! aahhh the memories

I train racing pigeons with my dad and brother. In the 6 years we have been competing, we've gone from last every round, to regional champions!

It is a great sport to get involved in, for the whole family.

I really envy you people....I hated my dad and kept as far away from him as possible, he's 98 now and I still have nothing to do with him.....

aww, thats sad :( im sure he doesnt deserve a friend like you anyway!
my dad is the same, he never had much to do with his dad, because he was a jerk, used to beat him and such.
so he tried his best to be an awesome dad for us!

my dad and i go on road trips and we alwayys play the psp together against eachothe :D lol

We grew tomatoes etc for the markets

Yeh, I know, not a hobby but at least we all did it together...

My Dad taught me to read and when I started reading properly, he would make me read to him, instead of the other way around. When I did swimming lessons, Dad would take me and after my lesson we'd muck around etc...then he kind of coached me when I was doing athletics. I miss him..

It's great to see most people have nice fathers, mine was/is a complete moron! I haven't spoken to him for years and hopefully won't for many more to come.

People really need to put the time in to their kids. I try my guts out with mine and so far so good. If anything ever went pear-shaped it'd never be through lack of effort, and regardless I'd try my absolute best to get it working again.

My favourite father/son hobby was staying out of his road.

Sounds the same like mine, my parents got devoirced when I was 2, got remarried and had a daughter, after all these years of blowing me off etc he wants to have a relationship with me NOW after nearly 14years..

im so sorry to hear u didnt have a good relationship with your dad, i think every boy/man needs a positive male role model in their life. but obviously u have learnt from your fathers mistakes which doesnt often happen sadly. a lot of kids that come from a home that lacks love and affection, grow up to treat their children the same way... but not you and u should be soo proud of that! i have many fond memorys of my dad till my mother split with him when i was 4 or 5. after that he wasnt much of a role model as he took to the bottle and became a recluse. myself and my mother also had a turbulent relationship growing up thru the idiots she bought home time and time again. as sad as this all is and thru the trauma and lonliness i suffered growing up, it shaped me into the person i am today. i have gone thru drug addiction and everything that goes along with that but thankfully i have come out the other side a wholesome (i like to think) , strong and savvy woman with a gorgeous little boy and another due in 4 weeks and am in a very loving and supportive relationship.i think i achieved this and got to where i am today thur promising to myself that i would NEVER treat my children or loved ones the way i have been treated or have seen others treated.
since i have grown up a bit, my relationship has smoothed out significantly with my family and i am now close to both parents...
parenting is so hard and i understand that every parent is bound to stumble every now and again, but to not learn from those mistakes is unforgivable.
well, thats my sob story haha... a sob story with a very very happy ending (so far!):D
