Was reading another thread closely related to this topic , but wanted to know others thoughts on Incubating others eggs for them ..

I have a clutch of some one elses eggs cooking in my inc right now , they will be there for around 4 weeks after all mine are done , so i will need to run the inc and check / air the eggs for 4 weeks after it could all be shut down and i can stop worrying about such things till next season .

What is a fair thing to receive if you do incubate some ones eggs for them ...
( please note i am not in dispute with the egg owner ) .

I think just incubating a clutch of python eggs..2 or 3 out of the clutch is fair.
Depending on the size of course. Only 4 may hatch..then I would take one, or maybe half the price of one. Discretion is used, especially if they are a good friend or just an acquaintance.
We incubate dragon eggs and take half the clutch.
We know of one person who makes out they are 'holier than thou *cough, cough*' making out we are crooks for doing this.
But on that note, we also feed all of them and sell all of them, which may take up to 6 months.
And as you know are worth not much. So probably just covers our electricity.
No matter what, the person you are dealing with knows the score and they are more than welcome to take them somewhere else to incubate if they are not happy with that arrangement.

10% of the clutch i think is fair though i know people who'll only do it for 1/2.

Come s down to the person with the eggs and how badly they want/need them incubated there is alway the maternal method.

Though i would only help out close friends not acquaintances, usually to much drama.

If it was for a mate I would cook them for nothing on the proviso that as soon as they hatch they are picked up.

i think in any case mate or no mate id ask for a hatchie of my choice if i didnt want a hatchie id ask for the cash value of that hatchie eg if it was a batch of womas id ask for $400 or so if i didnt want the hatchie,

i guess the same goes if u have a mate thats wants a male put over his female, its like a stud fee,

For amate- nothing. The power probably amounts to 20 cents a day. In Newcastle a slab get you a fair way, so perhaps a slab regardless of the sucess.

It really all depends on wat your incubating, i sometimes do some dragons for mates, i have no interest in them so dont expect to much maybe the cost of 2 to 4 hatchies of a big clutch. If i had an interest i am sure it might be different.

regardless of who it is. pick of the clutch. if a "mate" was intending to breed he or she would want to be prepared.

Thing is people should really have thier incubators up and running if they want to breed herps imo.

10 % or the pic of the litter so to speak, i believe is fair and reasonable

There is no 'stud fee'. If you pair your snake with someone else's for a breeding loan, usually you will split the hatchies a rough 50%.

depends on the people i guess,

but if all ur doing is lending your male to a mate to breed, isnt it a bit rough to be asking for half if he is going to be doing al the work,
all in all i really think breeding loans are stupid, causes to many arguements

10 percent sounds fair, or 10 percent of the value of its only 1 or 2 eggs,... :)

or a case or bottle of something if its just for a day or 2 while the other person gets an incubator sorted,...

as for 'studding' i wouldnt expect anything for my males time since he probably enjoyed himself and the girl/girls owner does all the work! :)

No, cause without a male thered me no eggs, and then no babies, it's 50/50.

I think a few hatchies is probably fiar but I wouldn't be doing it, I hate having my own incubator in the way, I love putting it away for the year, lols.

I hatched a clutch of jungles for a friend, and did it for nothing in return, just to help him out. But for your case would ask them to give you something to cover your costs or a hatchie, or whatever you are happy with for payment.
Good luck with them.
Cheers
