Hey guys this pic is one I used for another thread but it shows off her colouring well enough to use again. She was sold to a friend as a Diamond but to me she looks more like an intergrade. Maybe Jungle x Diamond?

Looks diamond to me. Hope you buy your brother another budgie!!!
You will never get a 100% answer on the net.. most people have no clue what they are looking at.

lol yeah my poor ten year old brother's budgie. I guess having the bird hanging in the garage in front of all the snakes was just tempting fate. And yes he got a new one the next day :)

coloured like a jungle with the stripes along its body but got the yellow dots like a diamond and messy head id say jungle x diamond but thats just looking at the picture

I won't comment on anything else, but for one, an intergrade is a natural cross between two species in the wild, diamond and jungle territory does NOT overlap. I'm sick of people putting a bad name on intergrades, as intergrades are not man-made.

Looks like a plain old diamond to me anyway, don't know where all of you are getting the jungle, just because it's a bit yellow and doesn't have perfect rosettes?

Ok sorry I didn't want to upset anyone. I guess I just got my terms mixed up. My friend will be happy to hear that people think she is pure Diamond as she doesn't want it to be a cross-breed. I just didn't think pure Diamonds had the distinct lines like this.

If anything it would be a natural intergrade (diamond / coastal ) or a made man cross (diamond / coastal ) again.

Noone will be able to tell you for sure though, only the breeder is going to know that. However if it was sold as a pure diamond it most likely is, not all have perfect rosettes. =)

Hybrid IMO

See - people are getting their terms wrong again, if this animal isn't pure it would be a 'cross', not a 'hybrid'. A hybrid is between two different species, eg. woma x carpet, not carpet x carpet as they are all Morelia Spilota.

either way it looks to be a happy python
sorry for the loss of the bird tho
If she doesn't want it any more, I could give it a home :D

Haha Slide I already offered to keep it instead of giving it back but she declined. The loss of the bird wasn't so tragic but felt bad for making my little bro cry.
Hmmm not sure about Darwin. She is very yellow in real life

If it's a wild snake, it's an intergrade, very similar to what we see commonly here on the mid-north coast. If it's a captive bred animal, it could be anything...

Jamie

Yeah it's captive bred. She was sold as a Diamond so benefit of the doubt would say that's all she is but I was just curious to get some opinions

Sold as a Diamond, without knowing anything else,we can only make our decision on what we think.IMO it looks more like a Diamond x.

Nope thats the correct term, a cross is no different to a hybrid, just different names for the exact same thing. It doesnt have to be 2 different species to be a hybrid. 2 different subspecies even different forms are, by meaning of the word, hybrids
