hi everyone ive been looking at some of the older post about python escapees, nut i thought posting my own problem will be some help too. Last week on friday night i went to check for my little spotted python rosey, who is only a hatchling. She wasnt there so i checked the top of the cage under the cage, everywhere in the enclosure room and everywhere else where she is most likely to be such as the fridge. Problem is that last week on friday was the last day before i went on a holiday to Queensland and i didnt get back until decemorning. Today i have pulled apart the house and looked for her everywhere. My grandparents looked after the house while i was gone, they put down flour but found nothing as well as searching during the night.

Any help is greatly appreciated as im really devasted ive lost my one and only snake.

There's isn't too much advice to give that you haven't already read in the other posts. Hope it turns out well for you. I've had a stimi turn up a week later berfore.

I also had a mate who spilt spot remover on his spotted and it was never seen again...........

I think the heat mat and hide with some food nearby is a good trick (although with the weather, at least in brissy at the moment you might not even need a heat mat) for escapees. Luckily for me I'm yet to have an escapee so that is purely on second hand information.

It would be unlikely for her to go far, as escaped pythons rarely wander much further than the house. I would try the food trick and hide hopefully she turns up.

Good luck

to be honest i wouldnt have went on the holiday - but thats a little late , id still do night searches with a decent torch .
i missplaced a woma acouple of weeks ago - next night i caught her heading back to her enclosure.

Thanks everyone i will try the food and torch searching tonight . Gecko rider i know why you so surprised, i would of liked to stay but my parents had already booked the flight and the accomodation so i didnt reallly have a choice unfourtently, im just hoping that my snake is ok.

Keep positive mate, mine have escaped and I've found it weeks later. keep your house closed up as much as possible so it doesnt get outside. They usually come out at night, so keep an eye out for it. Good luck :)
