Does anybody know roughly how much is added onto the shed size of a python due to stretching?
My diamond just shed and her skin measured at 5foot 6inches, however she herself looks to be only around 5foot.
Was just curious if there is an average stretching allowance or it depends on the python and/or how much they have pulled the skin in an attempt to get it off?
Have never really thought about it before :)

Thanks :)

It really depends how much the snake stretches it while getting out. I've had ones that are a good foot longer than the snake itself. There isn't a magical formula for calculating snake length from the length of their skins. Google "snake measurer". It is a great little piece of software that can accurately measure a snake from a photograph

Yeah I thought that must be the case, I guess I would have also stretched it out abit while unrolling it. I try to be gentle with them but they get so stuck haha. Does it really work? Sounds questionable haha.
