This might not be the place for this if so could 1 of the mods move it......Anyway, this has probably been done before but i have been unable to find the thread, so here goes nothing.

Although i have owned my girl for 5 years i am still a newbie when it comes to "terminology" and "abbreviations", so i thought maybe if there was not a thread in existance already this might be an opportune time to get it done and made a sticky so that us new folk to the game might be able to more understand what we are reading or hearing, this is not however the chance for the smarties to chime in with all the text talk like rofl, lol and the rest, I and i feel a lot of others would like to be able to fully understand what the stellar members here are talking about.

I will start off with a few i would like to know and if an understanding mod would like to collate all the answers into 1 thread and make it a sticky that would be great, like i said i might be talking out of my hat and it already exists and if so it really needs to be where us newbies can find it easily.

Het = Heterozygous - Describes an animal that carries two different genes for a given trait. The animal will display the dominant trait it carries but will also carry the genetics for the recessive gene.
Jag = Jaguar - A term given to a cross breed which displays a reduced and vastly different pattern as a result of the 'jaguar' mutative gene.
RPM = Reduced Pattern Morph - An animal that has a reduced natural pattern due to a genetic mutation.
Hypo = Hypomelanistic - The reduction or absence of black/brown pigmentation in an animals skin.
Morph = an animal that differs in a certain trait or traits to its natural 'wild' type due to a genetic anomoly.
Polygenic = A group of genes that influence certain traits in an animal, usually visual - such as Hypomelanism.

Hope that helps and someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anywhere.
