Hi I'm thinking about getting a monitor I've had other reptiles before pythons lizards etc. I've decided to get a ackie or ridge tail monitor and just wanted to know some stuff about them like enclosure size heating and lighting etc any info would be appreciated thanks.

i recently bought 2 ridge tailed monitors, i highly recomend you but a book called Keeping and bredding australian lizards by mike swan. it has heaps of infomation on keeping monitors.
i keep 2 babies in a 2ft enclosure with sand and rocks for climbing and hiding under. basking spot 50c and a cool end of 24-26c. calcium powder/ multi vitamin powder every 2-3 day dusted on woodies and crickets. i also have a UV light in their enclosure set from 6am to 6pm.
