There are well known companies already selling them at that price! We might have to go lower!QUOTE]

Why do you have to undercut others? Why can't you just go with the market price, everytime someone undercuts, the market price is affected. Sure, it is great that they are more affordable, but to drop by 50% in price in one year is quite dramatic.

It's simple, buy one when you can afford it. Morphs will always go down in price. The albino right now is being replaced by the jag... then something new will come up. The hybrid issue dies with the popularity of the jag and other co-dom morphs, like it or not. but it all comes down to on what "you" want to keep as a reptile keeper.

We decide what we think is a fair price. We do not have to sell anything either as we have systems in place to allow us to keep all of our hatchlings for as long as we want before selling them. Undercutting happens when breeders cannot hold on to their offspring and urgently move them on as it is costing them money to look after them. I'm sure there are more people out there willing to pay for a hatchling what we are charging than people that won't.

If you have done all the hard work and outlayed the money for them in the early days, then who cares wat you sell them for! Its your decision you dont always have to follow the trends, its only a matter of time before someone else goes lower. Good luck to all who bred albinos this yr!

your right on the morph of the year concept as the darwin was first then the jag and caramel then next will be the zebra and granite which ARE here...... a certain UK breeder who happens to have all these also seems to have traditionaly imposible to get animals over there so obvious some smuggling/trade has taken place

yes a certain breeder with ties to the UK... some rocks are best left unturned.

There are certainly going to be alot of albino carpets for sale this season!

yeah there will but this happens with every python go onto a american or uk reptile forum and you can buy jags for a few hundred dollars now but womas etc which are common here are new there and they are around 2-3 thousand pounds

Its supply and demand...........simple.
I think this season the price will stablise.
There's not to many people who can fork out $6000 for a darwin albino, as was the case 3 years ago, therefore the market was limited to a select few.
This year, if they do drop to $1000, then it opens the door to more people out there as $1000 is more affordable to most than $6000.
Therefore the market is open to more of a % of people...............
I would'nt be surprised to see a shortage to be quite honest..................time will tell.
