have a young sandfire. the little stinker is not a good eater. i have tried the following:
-live pinke mice and rat
- fresh killed pinkie mouse and rat.
-brained mouse and rat
- pinkie sented with --chicked/finch/mutton bird oil/lizard
- the only item i can get him to take is the comon old garden skink. i have tried tieing a pinkie rat and mouse to the skink but he takes the skink and leaves the pinkie(don't know how he seperated them ???!?)
he is housed in a click clack container. warm side is 32'c and cold side is ambient temp.
i have tried day and night time feeding.
i have left the live food item in with him for 24 hours.

****open to idea******** please

warm-side

try 34c on the warm side can make a fair bit of difference....cheers solar 17

try defrosting by putting in plastic bag/ziplock bag whatever and submerged in hot water and then presenting while the pinkie is warm...may work :)

if he takes skinks dose that mean the temp is on the mark?
or would i be better to up the temp and see how it goes.
thanks for the help solar 17

crazy sanke 08, i haved tried fresh killed. they are warm when presented. when you say warm up a frozen one in a placky bag do you mean warm up to 40'c or so?

i don't do the whole temperature check. just put hot water (from the tap) in the container with the rat, levae it for 5mintues and then give it too the snake.
