Hi,

Is it nessesary for me to have a Calcium Block in the water as well as a UVA/UVB light or is just the UVA/UVB light enough for my Baby Long-Necked Turtle to recieve calcium for his shell?

Thanks,
Matt Elrick

I would say you do need to have enough calcium in their diet or it can lead to shell problems and more.... the uv lights are there to help them digest the calcium. what do you feed them?

I am only feeding him frozen turtle dinner at the moment, 2moro i am going out to buy some bloodworm and shrimp.

It's so cute and tiny! But I have no idea.
My 2cents is make sure he gets sun.
Edit: My 2cents... natural sun is so much more beneficial than any man made lights.
